The Cucumber Crew
Good work deserves
good support.
We’re building a crew that takes pride in people’s homes, with clear expectations, training and someone to turn to.
Pay and progression
Our planned crew pay starts at £16 per hour, with progression to £16.50 and £17 as skills and responsibilities develop. Agreed driving or supervising duties each add £2 per hour while you carry out those duties. Holiday pay is handled separately. Your offer sets out your rate and the work it covers.
Learning the Cucumber Standard
Required training is paid. We cover presentation, discretion, household preferences, safe practical work, prioritising a visit and handing over properly. Practical assessment helps us match you to work you can do confidently.
Supervision and support
A supervisor will help with quality, questions during a visit and situations that need a decision. We agree availability and fixed commitments before offering work. Tell us about animal allergies or phobias privately during onboarding so visits can be planned appropriately.
A route into leadership
Interested in a permanent supervisor role? You can say so in the crew application. We may invite suitable applicants to discuss coaching, quality checks, customer communication and responsibility for a local crew. Permanent hours and pay are discussed separately.
Insurance and additional benefits
We’re working through the insurance and additional benefits available to the crew. Any personal cover, eligibility rules or qualifying hours will be explained once the arrangements are confirmed. We will not ask you to rely on cover that has not been put in place.
